At Khan Law, we aim to make the personal injury claims process as straightforward and stress-free as possible. Here’s what to expect when you make a claim with Khan Law.
Contact us by phone or through our online enquiry form. One of our experienced personal injury lawyers will listen carefully to your story, gather initial information, and advise you on whether your claim is likely to succeed.
If we believe you have a strong case, we will immediately start gathering evidence to support your claim. This includes medical reports, witness statements, photographs of the accident scene or injuries, and any relevant documentation that proves your losses.
Once we have sufficient evidence, we’ll approach the responsible party (or their insurers) and begin negotiations to secure the best possible compensation settlement for you. Our goal is always to achieve the highest compensation with minimum stress to you.
Most personal injury cases are resolved through out-of-court settlements. If an agreement can be reached that meets your expectations, your case will be settled promptly. If the opposing party refuses to offer a fair amount, we will advise you clearly on your options, including proceeding to court.
Once a settlement has been agreed or a court has awarded compensation, you’ll receive your money promptly, minus our pre-agreed success fee. At Khan Law, there are no hidden fees—everything is transparent from the outset.
If you have any further questions about this process, please contact our team today. We’re here to support you at every stage.

Many people are put off instructing solicitors because they are worried about cost. In order to increase access to justice, and to help people access the compensation they are entitled to, the law allows for what is called “success fee agreements”.
As the name suggests, this allows personal injury solicitors like Khan Law to offer our services on a speculative basis and incentivises us to work hard to achieve the maximum compensation for you.
In most cases, the success fee is a percentage of the overall compensation award. These percentages are capped by the law.

At Khan Law, clearly explain potential fees from the outset.
Importantly, recent legal reforms mean you won’t have to pay the other party’s costs if your claim isn’t successful, thanks to Qualified One-way Costs Shifting (QOCS). This significantly reduces financial risks for you.
With Khan Law, there are no hidden costs, and no unforeseen charges – you only pay us if you are successful.
Prior to the introduction of no win no fee /success fee agreements, anyone making a personal injury claim would have to pay solicitors fees and run the risk of having to fund potentially expensive litigation in order to settle their case. Not only that, but an unsuccessful claim could see them ordered by the court to pay the losing side’s costs, leaving the unsuccessful claimant out of pocket.
Then, as now, most claims were settled by negotiation prior to court (an “out of court settlement”). With the risks associated with litigation being higher, claimants settled for a smaller amount of compensation rather than run the risk of significant financial loss.
In 2013, following a review of the law, no win, no fee agreements (called Damages-based agreements) were introduced, allowing personal injury solicitors to charge a percentage of the compensation (or ‘damages’) as their fee for personal injury and other civil claims.
This allows claimants greater access to justice as they will not be for any legal fees should their claim be unsuccessful.
You should speak to an expert personal injury solicitor before accepting any offer from the other side. If you have been sent an offer of compensation, then call us on 0141 378 0514.
